ONE Conference 2016: “Sorry” by A Guy and a Girl (Justin Bieber parody)

I teamed with my good friends Jesse and Kathleen Leblanc – also known as “A Guy and A Girl” to present a musical invitation to our ONE Conference 2016 happening on March 5 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

A Guy and A Girl will be the featured musicians for the day.

Their song is a parody of the Justin Bieber hit “Sorry”.

Mom’s 75th Birthday: The Top 10 Things That Make Joyce…Joyce

In honour of my mother Joyce’s 75th birthday today, I proudly present the Top 10 list that my brother Jason and I wrote and presented at her party this past Saturday (see pictures here).

75b

Here are the Top 10 Things That Make Joyce…Joyce:

10.  (Jason): Mom REALLY cares about how she looks in pictures. What is supposed to be a fun, candid, QUICK picture will often turn into a full-fledged photo session that would make Artona proud. And she’s sneaky in the way she tries to get us to re-take pictures: Brooklyn’s not looking, Kayla needs to sit up, Malachi isn’t smiling. No, Mom it’s you. And we hate to break it to you, but pictures don’t lie. How you look in the picture is exactly what you looked like at that moment in time. For better or for worse. Canucks Christmas Carols

Every year, my friends and I get into the holiday spirit by singing about our Vancouver Canucks.  You’ll see some common themes throughout the years:  catchy tunes, good creativity, and our foreign exchange student.  Together, the videos have a combined 10,000 views.

Here’s a look at the videos we’ve done over the years:

2012:  This Christmas

With the NHL lockout, we actually didn’t have any hockey to sing about.  But we made due and came up with our version of the Donny Hathaway classic.

Clay’s Canucks Compositions: The Music of the 2011-2012 Season

As Boston’s elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs brought sweet music (and small consolation) to the ears of Vancouver Canucks fans, I reflected back to my music-related Clay’s Canucks Commentaries for the season.  There were four in total and included many of my friends and family members…all more talented than I am (there’s a reason why I only play the piano and don’t sing).  A few quick facts:

-the four videos total over 19,000 hits on YouTube
-they’ve been featured on Puck Daddy, Global TV and Canucks.com
-my guests include an anthem singer, an actress, viral video stars, my sons, my church buddies, and a foreign exchange student
-we cover Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Adele, Justin Bieber, Journey, and the incomparable Bruce Hornsby and the Range

Canucks Christmas Carol: Under the Minneso (Parody of Justin Bieber’s Mistletoe)

For this special edition of Clay’s Canucks Commentary, I pull a few friends together for the 2nd annual Canucks Christmas Carol.

You’ll recognize my friends Joseph and Jason from last year, as well as my sons Sean and Jacob. Oh yeah…and Kevin the foreign exchange student. Last year we put together The 12 Days of Christmas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuJfZVDEHj0

This year, we go bigger and better as we welcome Oggy, Patrick and “Game Day” dudes Andrew and Chris.

Inspired by Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe”, our song is called “Under the Minneso”. Confused? It will become very clear to you after the first verse.

You’ll actually hear Kevin the foreign exchange student for the very first time, and make sure you stay until the end for some bloopers!

Merry Christmas!
