Why We Do What We Do (as Youth Ministers)

This past weekend, we held our annual Spirit Day rally for the grade 7 students of the Archdiocese of Vancouver.  Themed “Almighty”, it was our biggest Spirit Day ever with 2,100 youth and adult participants converging at the Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey over the weekend.

We’ve been very deliberate, intentional, and strategic in our Spirit Day planning since its inception in 2005.  In some respects it has become the “piece de resistance” of our Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry given its size, scope, and impact.

Spirit Day 2012 Promo Video: “Almighty”

Here’s the official promo for Spirit Day 2012 – the largest annual Catholic youth rally in BC.

Spirit Day is the annual event for grade 7 students of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, presented by the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. It will be held on November 3 and 4 at the Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey.

The theme for this year’s event is “Almighty” – a recognition of God’s power and strength.  For God and with God, all things are possible.

Spirit Day will feature APeX Ministries as the Keynote Speakers, and Josh Blakesley and Band as our music ministers.
