Canucks Christmas Song (with Ben Hutton and Jake Virtanen)

Here is our Canucks Christmas song – it’s a parody of Run DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” book-ended by “My Favourite Things” from The Sound of Music.

We had a great time working with the Vancouver Canucks on this project. Canucks rookies Ben Hutton and Jake Virtanen join us for this video – they were so awesome to work with and had a lot of fun shooting with us.

Once again, I’m joined by the lovely and talented Marie Hui and Arielle Tuliao. As well, thanks to my brother Jason Imoo for producing the song.

Merry Christmas to all of you Canucks fans! I’ll be writing a blog about some of the “behind the scenes” stories from our shooting day soon.

Quality over Quantity

My Christmas break started off rather inauspiciously – I spent the majority of Christmas Eve in Richmond General Hospital.  After a bevy of tests including a blood test, urine test, CT scan, and ultrasound, it was confirmed that I wasn’t pregnant (yay) but that I had an inflamed large intestine (boo).  Needless to say, it made for a rather uncomfortable few days.

The remainder of the break was without incident, and we spent much of the time entertaining family and friends at our home or going to gatherings elsewhere.  Between Christmas, New Year’s, church functions, birthday parties, family gatherings, meals at restaurants, and more, we always seemed to be around people.  Intuitively, it made sense.  The holidays are a chance to see people that you might not often see amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life (work, school, etc).

In between gatherings, Gail and I enjoyed some much-needed quiet time at home with the kids.  These quiet times were few and far between, but sacred nonetheless.

And I realized – now more than ever – that I’m interested in quality over quantity. Continue reading Quality over Quantity

Hear new takes on old classics like Hansen the Honey Badger (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer), Radim Vrbata (Feliz Navidad), Get it Bo! (Let it Snow!), This Christmas, and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas.

We were absolutely thrilled to work with the Vancouver Canucks on this project and are extremely grateful for the opportunity and for their trust. Special shout out to Paul Albi (@AlbiJr) for all his hard work to make this happen.

Also, big thanks to Chris Golden (@lyteforce) and his silky smooth voice for being our host. He’s perfect for the part!

And it goes without saying that – as usual – the big star here is Marie (@mariehui). She can make anything sound good!
