Mid-way through the season, the Vancouver Canucks find themselves in the thick of the battle for a playoff wildcard spot.
In this episode of Clay’s Canucks Commentary, I hand out letter grades to all of the Canucks players and the head coach; they range from A to C-.
Our brand new Canucks song is a parody of the Chainsmokers’ hit “Closer”. When it comes to the Canucks, they are looking forward to putting last year’s tough season behind them and moving closer towards the playoffs.
The team will have some fresh faces up front and on the blue line, namely Loui Eriksson and Erik Gudbranson. As well, young players like Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi, Ben Hutton, and Jacob Markstrom are all one year older and one year better.
I’m joined by the lovely and talented Arielle Tuliao for this song. As well, my son Sean provides us with the beat.
Although the Vancouver Canucks slipped to fifth in last Saturday’s lottery for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, they are still confident that they will pick a “foundational player”.
In our new parody song, we look ahead to next month’s draft and at some of the players the Canucks will likely considering picking. As well, we pay tribute to the legendary Prince – who passed away on April 21, 2016.
I’m joined by regular collaborators – the lovely and talented Marie Hui and Arielle Tuliao for our version of “When Doves Cry”.
As the Canucks’ playoff hopes slip away, I turned to my keyboard for comfort and came up with a brand new parody song.
While I’ve never been part of “Team Tank”, I do indeed realize that the worse the Canucks do in the standings, the greater chance of winning the draft lottery and picking Auston Matthews at number one.
So here’s a song that inspires hope for the future – a future that would be a lot brighter with the best player in the available in this June’s NHL Draft, Auston Matthews.
My 12-year-old son Jacob took a break from his bowling and speed stacking to provide the vocals in this parody of Charlie Puth’s song “One Call Away”.
Here is our Canucks Christmas song – it’s a parody of Run DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” book-ended by “My Favourite Things” from The Sound of Music.
We had a great time working with the Vancouver Canucks on this project. Canucks rookies Ben Hutton and Jake Virtanen join us for this video – they were so awesome to work with and had a lot of fun shooting with us.
Once again, I’m joined by the lovely and talented Marie Hui and Arielle Tuliao. As well, thanks to my brother Jason Imoo for producing the song.
Merry Christmas to all of you Canucks fans! I’ll be writing a blog about some of the “behind the scenes” stories from our shooting day soon.
