My #Roadto40: Three Months Down, Two Months to Go

Last month, I was named Precision Athletics’ Client of the Month for March.  I have 2 distinct theories on how this happened:

a)     They were impressed with my results since I started attending the small group training sessions back in January

b)     They had exhausted virtually their entire client base and fell to me on their list of people to profile

In all seriousness, I was flattered that they asked me and I happily filled out the small Q & A for their newsletter (I’ve included it below).

As I write this, I’m exactly 2 months away from my 40th birthday on June 22.  I’ve increased my workouts from 3 days a week to 5 days a week.  Now, in addition to my 360 Degree Abs small group training sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, I’m attending a “Core Circuit” class over the Tuesday lunch hour and a Boot Camp over the Thursday lunch hour.  I’ve learned so much from these two additional days…mostly that I still have a lot of work to do!  I’ll save some of those stories for my next blog though.

Thank You for Being a Friend

At Spirit Day 2011
At Spirit Day 2011

Everyone knows that I am a big fan of Archbishop Michael. Ever since he arrived the Archdiocese of Vancouver back in 2007 (first as Coadjutor Archbishop to Archbishop Roussin), I have admired his leadership, courage, and vision.

It wasn’t the smoothest of starts for us – I believe that he was trying to figure out just exactly who he inherited as his “Youth Guy” whereas I was pretty much intimidated by him from the get-go.  Over the years, especially as we spent more time with each other, we start to feel more comfortable together and we engaged in some pretty memorable exchanges (as I detailed in my blog from a couple of years ago).

Awkward exchanges aside, I never had any doubt that he was a strong advocate for me, for our office, and most importantly, for the youth and young adults of our archdiocese.  His presence at all of our events and his support (both directly and indirectly) is noticed and appreciated.

Vancouver Canucks Song: Trevor (Parody of Bruno Mars’ “Treasure”)

Last week, Trevor Linden was named President of Hockey Operations of the Vancouver Canucks.  Arguably the most-popular player in the history of the franchise, Linden’s hiring ushers in a new era for the team.

Thus, as with any big Canucks development, I wrote a song about it.

Inspired by “Treasure” by Bruno Mars, we proudly present to you my latest Clay’s Canucks Composition: “Trevor” — a song that pays homage to the new President.

I’m blessed to be joined by four wonderfully talented friends, all of whom have appeared in previous videos of mine:  Marie Hui, Arielle Tuliao, Oggy Luistro, and Joseph San Jose.  Enjoy!
