The Vancouver Canucks are off to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994! The Canucks advanced to the finals with a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory over the San Jose Sharks, winning the series 4 games to 1.
In this CCC, I include a bunch of footage from both inside and outside of Rogers Arena from game 5:
-raw footage of Kevin Bieksa’s strange game-winning goal and the euphoria that erupted afterwards
-Henrik Sedin accepting (but not touching) the Clarence Campbell Bowl
-the festive mood on the streets after the game
Now the Canucks await an opponent to come out of the East…it will either be the Boston Bruins or Tampa Bay Lightning. We’re just 4 wins away from winning the Stanley Cup!
In this CCC I start off my acknowledging a couple of neat achievements: I’ve been elevated to “Featured Contributor” status on the Canucks.com Fan Zone, and I’ve joined the team at Canucks Hockey Blog (http://www.canuckshockeyblog.com) where I will do a regular written feature called “Things That Make You Go Hmmm.”
I take a quick look at the Canucks’ 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks in game 4 (a win that gave them a 3 games to 1 lead in the Western Conference Final) an in particular, I examine the Canucks’ blue line and how Keith Ballard, Chris Tanev, and Alex Edler are a few things that make you go hmmm.
Here are the links to Keith Ballard’s hip checks as mentioned in the CCC:
In this CCC I take a quick look at the Canucks’ 7-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks, giving them a 2 games to zero lead in the Western Conference Final. Game 2 had a bit of everything: nice goals, a fight, big hits, and a flasher.
I also take a close look at Ben Eager’s night of work: in 11 minutes he had one goal and 20 penalty minutes (including one 10-minute misconduct and a dangerous boarding penalty for driving Daniel Sedin into the boards from behind).
Ben’s eager-ness to get involved physically likely hurt his team as the Canucks didn’t engage in any of his shenanigans.
We’ll see what happens in game 3!

For this special CCC, I channel my inner homeboy and interview the creators of a brand new Canucks song called “Go Canucks Go (This Is What We Live For)”: producer Jason Imoo and rapper t.pAk.
We talk about the inspiration behind the song, the writing process, and their hopes for the song. It has a great vibe and very clever lyrics; let’s spread it around and make this the Canucks’ playoff anthem until we win the Stanley Cup!
